Happiest 2014

Wednesday, January 1, 2014

We started our New Year's Eve off by taking a few photos commemorating the brand new year! The picture I took of Roman last year when he was just coming up on three months old is one of my very favorites. Once Michael got home from work, we ordered sushi and made tons of finger foods to last us through midnight. We actually were so consumed with building the most bad ass city out of Roman's Go Go Smart Wheels that we missed the ball drop and didn't realize it until like 12:15am. New Year's Eve, like everything else is so different now that we are a family of three. Gone are the days of dressing up to go to crowded bars and wait 20 minutes for a drink. Nothing will beat an evening at home, everyone together... Though I do miss having some place to wear party dresses every now and then. I usually forget to make a resolution every year, but this year I would like to make more of a point to be more present with Roman. I get so caught up in getting everything done or capturing each and every single moment in pictures that I know I am not giving him my 100% undivided attention. He has grown from our tiny, 7lb 13oz baby to a bruising 27lb monkey what seems like over night. There are days I look at him and he seems so big and independent and it's just going to keep going at warp speed. I want to keep him little forever and never want to look back with a regret of missing a moment. This past year has been our best yet and as cliche as it sounds, I truly feel we have everything we could ever want. All I could hope for with 2014 is that my family remains strong, healthy and happy (and for Roman to potty train himself.) Wishing the same for all of you too! Happy New Year! 2014, you have big shoes to fill!
